In the Night Garden
In the Night Garden is a magical, fairytale world for young pre-school children, and shown on Cbeebies. At the start of every episode, we see Igglepiggle travelling in his boat to the Night Garden. Each character speak in their own repeated phrases and language, and children quickly feel comfortable and safe with them, every character is different in looks and characteristics, teaching children that everyone is different & special in their own way.
The main characters from In the Night Garden are Igglepiggle, a lovely blue teddy like character, who always carries his red blankey around with him. His best friends are Upsy Daisy, a rag doll, with brightly coloured clothes. She has her own special bed, which can move around the garden; sometimes Upsy Daisy has to catch her bed when it decides to run away. Her catchphrases are "Upsy Daisy" and "Daisy Doo" Other characters include Makka Pakka, He lives in a little cave and likes cleaning things, such as his collection of stacking stones, and sometimes the other characters themselves. He travels around the Garden pushing his trolley, the Og-Pog. There are also the Tombliboos, the Pontipines, the Wottingers, Hahoos, Tittifers, and of course the Ninky Nonk & Pinky Ponk, which they use to travel around the Night Garden in.
